The last couple of months have been a struggle.
At Easter I lost my grandmother at the age of 94 – a good run by anyone’s measure. She was a stoic conservative, and a tough lady in terms of willpower and resolve. She went through a lot in the past 10 years; including amputations, pleurisy, breast cancer, MRSA, and heart failure. Throughout all of this she maintained a rare kind of dignity that I find hard to see in society these days.
It was a real honour to lead her coffin in at the funeral service, but it was also one of the hardest…
It was a real blow to the gut, especially at a time of a tough depression.
Things stayed tough with my fiancée requiring an eyeball injection to treat a haemorrhage at the back of her right eye. This has caused her much grief as her artwork has suffered due to distorted eyesight. I’m glad to say the procedure has helped, and her talents are now less hindered.
On a brighter note, I have decided to self-publish my book. I am awaiting artwork to be done for the cover, so when that is done things will start rolling.
P. S. A vlog will be uploaded soon!
